Who CodeCargo is for, and who it is not
CodeCargo is the control plane for operating GitHub at enterprise scale. That focus makes it a poor fit in several situations, and it is cheaper for everyone if you know which before a call.
Who CodeCargo is not for
You are not on GitHub.
CodeCargo is GitHub-native. If your source of truth is GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps and you intend to stay there, CodeCargo is not the tool. If you are moving to GitHub, that is a different conversation and it is the one our migration practice exists for.
You have a handful of repositories and one team.
The problems CodeCargo solves are estate problems: policy drift across hundreds of workflows, runner sprawl, no single administrative view, onboarding that does not scale. With ten repositories and one team, native GitHub settings and a couple of reusable workflows will get you there, and you should use those.
You want a code scanner.
Secret scanning, code scanning and dependency review are covered natively by GitHub Advanced Security, at the repository level. CodeCargo operates at the workflow and organisation level: what runs, under what policy, on which runner, with what network access. Teams generally run both, and if you only need the former you do not need us.
You need a compliance certificate rather than compliance controls.
CodeCargo is SOC 2 Type II certified, and the platform enforces and evidences controls in your pipelines. It does not make your organisation compliant, and no tool does. If what you need is an auditor, hire one.
Your CI estate is stable and nobody is asking for change.
Migration and governance projects need an internal owner. If no one has the mandate to change how pipelines are built, the tooling will not create it.
Where we are a strong fit
If you are running GitHub across many teams, carrying legacy CI you intend to retire, and someone is accountable for whether workflows meet policy, that is the centre of what CodeCargo is built for.
